The Research And Practive About The Landscape Design Of The Urban Public Space

The public space is one of the key constituents of the urban environmental architecture. It is therefore important to improve the ecology of the public space and to create natural landscapes of ecological aesthetics. The present study was aimed at finding of the features of the urban public space and the key points of landscape design at the same time, proposing main methods to solve above problems and their use in specific engineering design cases.Urban public space points two categories---the shape space and the linear space.There are differences in Landscape designs that Should pay attentions to two kinds of spatial landscape integration by linear public space, public space will point series, display and reconstruc the city landscape.Genius Joci can be divided into three levels:the site of natural environment, the site surroundings, the site’s history culture. City public space landscape designs to create a meaningful daily living places, from the three dimensions of the spirit.Low carbon and energy saving of city public space landscape design put forward higher request, to " Low Carbon Landscape " as the target of the city landscape design of public space.Introduction of" The theory of Landscape Urbanism " to guide the city public space landscape design, landscape urbanism regards that city landscape is the ecological system, is spatio-temporal process.This article includes7chapters:Chapter1describes the research background, current status, content and objectives of this research. The main features of the urban public space are presented in chapter2. Chapter3elaborates the types of urban public space and key points of landscape design and emphasizes the landscape integration of the point-like space and linear space. These first three chapters are the theoretical basis of the overall research.Chapter4analyzes three entry points to improve urban public space in detail. The concept of a "Genius loci" is proposed and used to discuss the landscape design of urban public space in chapter5. Chapter6proposes the concept of "low carbon landscape" which can be viewed as the objective of urban public space landscape design. Chapter7proposes the theory of Landscape Urbanism to guide landscape design. Above four chapters present the main methods to solve the issues of landscape design in urban public space, which also are the main results of the research.The above methods are fully reflected in three practice projects which directed by the author successfully. These projects are expounded in chapter4to chapter7combining theory and practice. Especially the award-winning project "2014Qingdao World Horticultural Exposition plan", in which the three methods "Genius loci","low carbon landscape thinking" and "the theory of Landscape Urbanism " are all used, is an excellent case of urban public space landscape design.
