On Rural Landscape Planning And Design Based On Genius Loci

China’s rural construction has undergone earth-shaking changes after the Reform and Opening up,especially in the past decade,the rural landscape has been improving and becoming increasingly modern.However,in the process of rural landscape construction,problems such as formalization,homogenization,single function,and function mismatch also appeared,which also led to some consequences that seemed unrelated to the landscape,such as insufficient cohesion of villagers,no longer having a strong sense of identity and belonging,which showed that regional culture and rural civilization were weakening,missing,and even breaking.The reason can be attributed to the lack of thinking about rural characteristics,rural culture and rural place in the process of rural landscape planning and design.Rural planning is only limited to visual landscape,and the lack of deep cultural and spiritual consideration of images makes the countryside both familiar and unfamiliar.The research of this paper attempts to make up for the lack of spiritual connotation of rural construction from the perspective of Genius Loci,and improve the quality of rural landscape construction through the theory of Genius Loci.The research of this paper is a systematic attempt to apply,excavate and inherit the Genius Loci of rural places.At the same time,China has accumulated rich experience in rural construction for decades,leaving a variety of construction practices,providing a rich sample for this study.In terms of theory,this paper takes the Genius Loci as the guiding theory to study the planning and design of rural landscape: analyze the relevant theories of rural landscape,elaborate on them,analyze the three major landscapes(ecological landscape,living landscape and productive landscape)from the perspective of rural characteristics,and summarize their existing problems;Secondly,analyze the connotation,development and application of Genius Loci in rural landscape,find out the relevant theoretical basis that can be used for rural landscape planning and design,excavate the unique rural landscape symbols,and enrich the connotation of rural landscape;Finally,it summarizes the rural landscape planning and design strategy based on the theory of Genius Loci to solve the problems encountered in the current rural landscape planning,make up for the lack of place spirit in rural places,and achieve the protection and inheritance of rural place spirit.At the level of practical research,this paper takes Guikeng Village,Jiulongshan Township,Jiangxi Province as an example to carry out specific landscape planning and design: Guikeng Village,Jiulongshan Township,is a beautiful village with good natural foundation and rich historical and cultural heritage.It extracts its rural characteristics in this place with rich landscape,and integrates natural landscape and local characteristics into the landscape planning and design based on the principles of ecological protection priority,life and culture conservation,innovation and sustainable development,And the artistic construction of the landscape forms the symbiosis of human and nature.At the same time,the historical culture and cultural symbols of Guikeng Village in Jiulongshan Township are integrated into the landscape planning and design to enhance people’s sense of identity and belonging from the connection between the landscape and the place,strengthen its place spirit,and enhance its regional and vitality.
