In recent years, with the improvement of living standard, people put forward higher requirements on the vehicle ride comfort, at the same time, because of the energy crisis, environmental pollution is becoming increasingly serious,which make the relevant regulations on the car is becoming more and more strict, the energy-saving and emission reduction have become the focus of attention of the whole society.There are many types of vehicle heating system, one of them, hot-coolant heating system make the engine coolant as the heat source, and it has absorbed a considerable part of heat from the engine. For small cars, if can fully, reasonable utilization of the coolant heat, can greatly improve the vehicle heating performance and fuel economy. Therefore, it has very important practical significance that the research on how to improve the heating performance of vehicle hot-coolant heating system.The paper based on the non-standard heating performance of a light bus’ hot-coolant heating system in the cold environment, made some studies on the hot-coolant heating system as follows:1. According to the light bus’heating system structure and its heating experiment data, vehicle dynamics and thermodynamics related knowledge to calculate the heat which coolant absorbed from the engine, coolant supplied to the car and meet the demand of the heating performance in the cold environment;2. Compared the heating system structure of the light bus and two other cars whose heating performance is up to the standard, and through the experimental data, analysed the impact of the heat exchanger’s series and parallel structure to the heating performance;3. Based on AMESim software, established the vehicle heating simulation model of the light bus, and through computer simulation, analysed the influence of different factors on the heating performance;4. Based on the simulation results, the light bus heating system, vehicle air tightness and thermostat were optimized; then the boundary conditions of the optimized light bus’heating system which should be up to the standard in the cold environment was analysed in theory;5. Based on the AMESim software, the light bus’heating system simulation model was established after optimization, and it was verified by means of computer simulation and environment chamber heating test. The results show that the light bus heating system after optimization can meet the heating requirements, improved the heating performance.This paper’s research result on a light bus’heating system, which improved the light bus’heating performance, and also can provide a method for other vehicles to improve heating performance, and the heat calculation method can provide reference for other vehicle heating system’s forward design.
