Land, which is a kind of finite resource that cannot be replaced, carries all human activities. China has fertile land in the country, but it also has a population of more than1.3billion, therefore the per capita land resources of China is far below the world average per capita land resources. Along with China’s urbanization, the demand of construction land increased year by year, a large number of high quality cultivated land has been occupied. The man-land contradictions have been ratcheting up in our country, and the food security in China is facing a severer challenge. In order to solve the problem of sustainable development in China, the government began to vigorously promote land development and consolidation. Land development and consolidation is a comprehensive technology which redistribute the conditions of an area, including the scene pattern, land source, creature source and human settlements, and aim to improve production and living conditions and conduct landscaping. In the long development history of land consolidation activities, we have learned many valuable lessons. As we learned that unreasonable land consolidation would commit environment destroy and ecology unbalance, so we need theories to provide us a scientific land consolidation plan.Landscape ecology is an emerging discipline which absorbs the advantages of many disciplines, such as ecology, geography, planning and so on. The theories and methods used in landscape ecology can be also used to conduct the actuality appraising, spatial planning and space optimization. It’s advisable to introduce the landscape ecology methods into the planning and program evaluation of land consolidation. This paper, based on a case study on Yuchangfan village, Hubei province, constructs the shortest ecology-cost path by applying Minimum Cumulative Resistance model, and then finish the distribution of ditch, canal, road, protection forest based on the result. In the end, this paper evaluates the planning scheme by the analysis of several landscape ecology indexes. The result shows:First, the corridors of Yuchangfan village, which are all belong to, contain ditch, canal, road, protection forest. The current condition of corridors in Yuchangfan village is in disorder and not systematic, but the condition of corridors in the planning scheme is much better and systematic.Second, all the landscape pattern indexes, such as the average width, corridors density, corridor connectivity, corridor ring degree, field connectivity, ecological connectivity, get promoted in the planning scheme than the current condition, shows that the planning scheme is complied with the requirements of land consolidation and will improve the ecological level of Yuchangfan village. In a word, the method is feasible that to conduct a land consolidation planning based on landscape ecological evaluation.
