With the rapid development of modern industrial technology, the energy efficiency of the demand is higher and higher. Boiler as important thermal power and main energy conversion equipment, it is widely used in the industrial and civil heating application with its control and management level increasing day by day. National "11th five-year plan" has 《the inefficient coal-fired industrial boiler transformation》 as the first of ten important projects of energy saving, and boiler combustion technology research has become the main direction of the research of boiler transformation, which are directly related to whether the boiler quality is good or bad. The application of advanced boiler automatic control technology not only can guarantee the safety in production but also can improve energy efficiency, which has the very good investment prospects and market development space, and it has become the inevitable trend of the development of boiler industry.This paper first introduces the development situation of the boiler industry automation and the research status of boiler combustion control algorithm at home and abroad. Through the analysis of the process and combustion theory of heating boiler establish a temperature control mathematical model. Based on the analysis of control principle and algorithm of boiler with the help of MATLAB software, we set up simulation model of the boiler combustion temperature control system, and make simulation and improvement for a variety of control algorithm. Then the simulation results show that the modified Smith-fuzzy PID control algorithm has good dynamic performance, which not only has good following performance and anti-interference ability, but also eliminate effects of system modeling inaccuracies. In addition, based on fixed air-coal ratio, we design the section optimization control algorithm of air-coal ratio, which improve the boiler combustion efficiency and achieve the purpose of energy conservation and emissions reduction.Based on the simulation and research of boiler control system, Hollysys PLC and GE iFIX4.5configuration software is adopted to the design of the boiler control system of Jinma village in TianJin with the aid of industrial Ethernet TCP/IP and OPC communication protocol. At present, this system has been successfully applied in the district heating. The operation results show that the system is safe, stable, reliable, rapid and accurate of data acquisition and processing, and achieve the expected design goal and user’s requirement.
