In recent years, how to reduce the power consumption of the street lamp has become a hot topic research with the rapid development of urbanization construction which brings about the high energy consumption of street lamp. From the domestic and international research, reducing the voltage of the power supply is the mainstream technology which can achieve good energy saving effect. As a new type high performance ACVV (AC variable voltage) technology, AC chopper has many outstanding characteristic compared with the traditional electromagnetic voltage regulating technology, such as continuous adjustment, small harmonic wave, high power factor, small volume, light weight and high efficiency. In this background, a street lamp energy saver based on AC chopping voltage regulating technology is designed in this paper.First of all, comparing and analyzing the principles and characteristics of the existing voltage regulating technologies, this proofs that the AC chopper technology is suitable for the street lamp energy saver. Then a detailed analysis is conducted, including the main circuit topology, control strategy, filter circuit, etc., which is verified by the simulation of MATLAB.Secondly, in view of the characteristics of street lamp energy saver, the energy saving system base on MCU89SC51is proposed, consisting of the hardware and software design of main circuit, control circuit, detection circuit, etc.At last, wireless data management of the street lamp electric saving system can achieve by combining the Zigbee with the AC chopping technology.
