The residential area is a place inhabited by human beings, and a tangible entity which can be used by human beings. Therefore, the landscape and function will be expected to be improved. With urbanization, the ecology concept and living environmental quality are in increasingly high demand for environmental quality and that promote the designers to pay more attention to the comprehensive benefits of virescence in residential areas, of which the most important is the eco-efficiency. And the efficiency would promote the development of plant landscape in residential areas towards a more ecological direction.Plant landscape of residential areas is also an important part of the urban landscape ecosystem. Eco-Plant Landscaping can not only improve the living quality of residential areas, more importantly, it can also create a healthy, sustainable green living atmosphere, which is in line with the pursuit of natural, ecological and pleasant living environment.This paper explores the background, the concepts and progress of the eco-design of the plant landscape of urban residential areas. On the basis of the analysis, some related design ideas and principles are proposed. Furthermore, the methods of designing the ecological plant landscape in residential areas will be studied in order to explore the new theories and practices of planning the ecological plant landscape in residential areas. It can also provide theoretical support and foundation for the ecological plant landscape design in the island A of Chunshen Lake High-class Community and in turn, the practicalness, scientificalness, ecology and sustainability of the theories can be proved in the real case.
