Research And Evaluation Of Subway Station Signage System Based On Aging Perspective

China’s aging population is serious, but the designers don’t pay much attention of thebarrier-free design and universal design of subway signage system. This has led to theinconvenience of travel of the elderly. It can be drawn from the theory of the user pyramidthat if subway signage system can meet the needs of older persons must be able to meet theneeds of ordinary people. It will Propose a theoretical and practical basis if subway signagesystem can combine the older people’s physical, psychological characteristics and subwaysignage system’s design principles.The focus of this project is the problem and evaluation of subway station signage systembased on aging perspective. Subway identification system is actually related to the theory andtechnology of multiple disciplines.The research combines qualitative analysis (user survey) and quantitative analysis (visualindicators and coherence indicators of signage at decision points), and proposes solutions forthe quantitative assessment of the subway signage system. Finally, the research quantitativeevaluated the signage system of zhujiang new town and put forward improvements. It verifiedthe results of this research project can be implemented.The kernel contents in this thesis include:1. The project research and evaluate the subway signage system based on aging perspective,and analysis the theories of aging and signage design. To meet needs of more people, it putforwards the theory that the subway signage system design must be down from up to bottom.The key point of the design of subway signage system based on aging perspective is thecircular design thinking of design disciplines and design evaluation.2. Put forward the design disciplines of subway signage system based on aging perspective.Based on the classification of subway signage system, subway signage system is divided intotwo parts: signage and line planning. Combined perceptual characteristics, visualphysiological characteristics and design principles, it brings out design disciplines of subwaysignage system.3. Put forward quantitative evaluation theory of subway signage system in specificpopulations. Based on the design disciplines of subway signage system in terms of agingperspective, it brings out evaluation indicators and evaluation methods of signage and lineplanning. Using Analytic Hierarchy Process, calculate the index of evaluation indicators,come to the sort of evaluation indicators. Throughout the steps of user survey, calculation theindex of evaluation indicators, comprehensive Evaluation, interpret the analysis on the subway signage system in aging perspective.
