Nowadays the increase of fuel vehicle ownership in the world, leads toincreasingly serious energy crisis and environmental pollution. The pure electricvehicles, as a clean and non-polluting new energy vehicles, draw more and moreattention of people, whose technology continue to develop and mature. The safetystudy of pure electric vehicles, as a new type of transport, is just starting out. And theresearch of very important safety control strategy of sudden loss of voltage of pureelectric vehicle power battery pack in pure electric vehicles is domestic blank. Pureelectric vehicles use power batteries as the only energy source, whose output voltagecan be up to hundreds of volts. Once a sudden loss of voltage failure in power batterypack occurs, pure electric vehicles will shutdown rapidly, affecting the safety of lifeand property of drivers. Therefore, the research on the emergency control strategy ofsudden loss of voltage has very great significance to ensure the safety of life andproperty for vehicles and drivers.In this paper, we research and design the emergency control strategy of suddenloss of voltage of pure electric vehicle power battery pack in pure electric vehicles. Themain contents of these topics are as follows:(1) We study the discharge characteristics of the power battery pack of pureelectric vehicles, and analysis the sudden loss of voltage failure.(2) We model the power supply system of pure electric vehicles, analysis variousfaults of high-voltage power supply system prone to lead to a sudden loss of voltage ofpure electric vehicles, propose the emergency control strategy of sudden loss of voltageof pure electric vehicle power battery pack in pure electric vehicles, which gives ashort battery endurance and some emergency time in case the sudden loss of voltage inPEV for drivers.(3) We do a deeply study of the switching control algorithm for a pure electricvehicle power battery pack and standby power systems; Analysis the control strategyof asynchronous motor “constant-torque” and “constant-power” in pure electricvehicles and the relationship between motor running performance and supply voltage. Based on the design of the emergency control strategy of sudden loss of voltage in PEV,we build a software simulation platform for the simulation of the emergency controlstrategy.(4) We build a comprehensive model for emergency control system andmotor-driven simulation by MATLAB/SIMULINK.Simulation results have proved that the method this paper have researched has agood performance, and gives a short battery endurance and some emergency time incase the sudden loss of voltage in pure electric vehicles for drivers to protect theirsafety of lives and property. This paper lays a good foundation for the further researchand development of safety of pure electric vehicles.
