Vehicle development limited by vehicle body research for its long research cycle anddifficult manufacture. For this situation, more and more companies began to focus on sheetmetal forming and exploited technique of CAE to simulate the metal sheet forming processand research forming result that could be used to guide the design and manufacture ofmold.To the problem of stamping forming in vehicle body development, the paper mainlyintroduced the development and theory of metal sheet forming and the finite elementmethod. Then to analysis stamping forming, author took a drawing process simulationwith hook and girder of front suspension which are the representative parts of vehicle bodyby Dynaform. Base on the feature and forming defect of outer cover and structure part,simulate the drawing process to them with binder force, draw bead and angle.Followed by that, paper list and summarize the reason for spring back with its theory.Take a spring back simulation for girder by the result of drawing and trimming process toanalysis and compare the Y+and Y-of the spring back with tiding.It has been introduced with the CMM which is base on CAD model. In order to verifythe result of simulation, author measure the spring back of sample of the girder of frontsuspension to make a contrast with the simulation result at last.
