The production of the auto-body panel is a crucial part of automobilemanufacturing. However, its mostly space structure with complicated form determinesthe complexity of deformation in stamping, and the deformation law is not easy tomaster, which causing many inevitable quality problems at the same time. Theselection of the blank shape and size, the planning of the working process and theselection of the technology parameters in the traditional panel-mould design, all ofthem can only based on experience. So the qualified parts can merely be producedthrough trial and error approach method, which will cost a large amount ofconsumption of manual labor, material and financial resources, and increase theproduction cost, delay the production cycle.CAD/CAE technology was introduced into the practical manufacturing of theauto-body panel as a kind of modern design and manufacturing method, it brokethrough the traditional design method. Through computer simulation of the practicalstamping process of auto-body panel, determining the blank shape and size of thecomponents, draw bead, blank holder force, etc. forecasting the wrinkle and rupturetrend of the components by calculating the stress and strain distribution, andpredicting the springback value. It had great significance to guide the actualproduction process.The most common problems in auto-body stamping process mainly cover threeaspects:breakage, wrinkle and springback. The breakage and wrinkle problems havebeen well resolved, but the investigation of springback problem is still in its earlystage, which in need of being thoroughly solved. So this article carries out stampingforming simulation for auto-body panel and car’s channel reinforcing plate, andmakes deep research for the control of springback.The main research contents in this paper include:1. Describes the important theory of the stamping simulation of auto-bodypanel, and the basic stamping springback theory of auto-body panel isanalyzed.2. The technology parameters are determined and all the working proceduresare simulated based on AutoForm software, and the results of the Drawingprocess are analyzed and adjusted. Mainly simulates the phenomenon ofspringback, and forecasts the location and value of springback.3. The blank-holder force and drawbead are optimized to control springback ofthe channel reinforcing plate by controlling the processes. The componentpractical stamped by using this method meets the requirement of design,which proves the effectiveness of this method.
