With the development of technology and the improvement of people’s living standard, in a certain extent, traditional cleaning tools are replaced by emerging small deducting appliances, vacuum cleaner is the most representative one among them. Normally, vacuum cleaner carries heavy weights, which will increase the burden on the muscles of arms and waist and lead to muscle injury. Especially for the part-time employees, using the inappropriate angle of handle for long-term cleaning is likely to cause cumulative muscle damage. Therefore, it is important to conduct study on how to use the ergonomics concepts and principles to design the appropriate handle angle and proceed effective user experience measures, moreover, to enhance the operation comfort and user satisfaction.In this study, experimental handle shape, weight and other factors were determined through literature surveys and market research. Meanwhile, household survey was used to collect use methods when cleaning, which was the basis to design experimental tasks. The sEMG method was used to evaluate the task completing process in which subjects used cleaner handle with different angles, and EMG and joint angle changing curve were generated afterwards. The optimal handle angle in each task was achieved according to analysis results, the design recommendations of cleaner handle angle was proposed associated with users’cleaning habits.
