Since the1980s, China’s road construction has development rapidly,until2011,the National highway mileage is more than4million km. At present, a largenumber of high-grade asphalt pavement roads close to or reach the end of itsservice life. Asphalt concrete pavement in the role of many factors will havevarying degrees of damages, therefore,it will affects driving comfort and safety,soit is necessary to be repaired or altered. In the process of repair or alteration,itwill produces large amounts of waste asphalt mixtures, if the mixtures be disca-rded,it be bound to cause the environmental pollution,and of course not econo-mic.This article is based on existing research results at home and abroad. In thisstudy, two composite cold-recycling agents(cold-recycling agent3#&4#) consistsof two parts (impregnation agent and dehydrator) and a new cold-recycling testmethod for the aged asphalt binder (Powder sample preparation cold-recyclingmethod) were developed.By using asphalt performance test,NMR test,and composition analysis test,thecold recycled asphalt binder’s performance has been tested. The results show that,this cold-recycling method achieved a better recycled performance. Under suchconditions,cold recycled asphalt has the same nature with matrix asphalt. Thisindicates that the compositions of aged asphalt have been improved,and thecold-recycling process is successful.Based on these,the asphalt mixtures milledfrom Yu-Fu road ChongQing,was been used to be the materials in cold-recycli-ng test. After a series of Asphalt mixture tests, The results show that the coldrecycled asphalt mixture will reach the optimal performance with cold-recyclingagent3#. This indicates that cold recycled asphalt mixture’s performance withthe new method can reach performance of hot mix asphalt.
