Transportation is the foundation of the national economic development has the guidingeffect, industry, transport infrastructure only advance to adapt to the needs of the development of national economy. In highway reconnaissance, the traditional manual mapping has not fully meet the needs of the infrastructure construction of rapid development, And airborne LIDAR (Light Detection And held,LIDAR) technology is a new kind of surveying And mapping technology, hasthe characteristics of high precision And high efficiency, using the LIDAR technology can not only measure area topographic map, the route corridor zone Andits surrounding environment, also can in the design of the late provide accurate digital models. LIADR technology brings to the mountainous area highway survey of traditional surveying and mapping method does not have application mode and technical advantages.System in this paper introduces the artificial measurement and airborne laserradar measuring their respective principles, processes, advantages and disadvantages and applicable condition. First of all, introduces the development of airborne LIDAR technology and research status at home and abroad; Second, artificialmapping are discussed in detail, and their principle of airborne LIDAR, measuring method, data processing and so on. Finally through the project example, thedetailed description LIADR preparations in the mountainous area highway survey, navigation, data processing, numerical model establishment, etc all details and accuracy analysis was carried out and conditions quantity calculation and analysis, some conclusions are drawn, also illuminates the LIDAR technology feasibility and the superiority in the mountainous area highway survey.
