The research theory and construction technology of cable-stayed bridge haveentered into a new stage in China, while the comprehensive application of aestheticdesign and rationality of structure puts forward more new requirements to thebridges designer. Based on an unification of the function, aesthtics, culture andtechnology, the special-shaped cable-stayed bridges attract the world’s eyesinstantly. With its unique posture, Guohe bridge is revealed to the world in Lao tzehometown, witch is matched to a well-known saying “The highest good is likewater”.Relying on the design proposal of Guohe bridge—cable-stayed bridge withsingle water-drop-shaped steel-concrete composite pylon, the paper reviews thedevelopment history and current situation of cable-stayed bridges andspecial-shaped cable-stayed bridges with single pylon at home and abroad; a finiteelement modle of full-bridge is established by the finite element softwareMIDAS/CIVIL, then the simulation analysis and comparision of consturectionprocess of two different construction schemes is done; moreover after the staticanalysis of bridge constructed with construction scheme B is calculated, theincrement of displacement, bending moment and axial force will be analyzed basedon the most unfavorable arrangement of moving load, the whole bridge systemtemperature changes, the positive and negative temperature gradient of girder crosssection and the different temperature change mode of cables; a space finite elementmodel of water-drop-shaped steel-concrete composite pylon is established byANSYS software witch is based on Ansys Parameter Design Language(APDL); thelaws of stess distribution and deformation of pylon is explored according to twospecial engineering situations, the results of witch can supply references for theconstruction control and design of the same type cable-stayed bridges.
