Based on the 130+130m concrete single pylon cable-stayed bridge, this theise analyzed the static and dynamic effects of the cable-stayed bridge during the operation stage, then optimized sections of the bridge pylon.Single tower concrete cable-stayed bridge and single pylon concrete cable-stayed bridge were firstly introduced. Aiming at a 130+130m single tower cable-stayed bridge, a design scheme of single pylon tower, single cable plane with double rows and prestressed concrete girder was made. Furthermore, a finite element software MIDAS CIVIL 2012 was used to establish a full bridge beam element model based on grillage method. By using this model, internal force, stress and deformation of the bridge were analyzed under the action of the unfavorable combinations of dead load, live load, temperature load and wind load during the operation stage. And then, free vibration characteristics of this bridge were analyzed during its finished stage. Besides, seismic responses of this bridge were calculated by using the response spectrum method and time history method respectively. Finally, seven kinds of pylon section were put forward in consideration of concrete-filled rectangular steel tube, short the tower width, a finite element software ALGOR was used to establish a integrated detailed finite element model of the entire bridge. Based on the seven kinds of pylon section mentioned above, both the integrated detailed finite element model and spatial finite beam element model were used to analyze and compare static effect and seismic responses, and this suggestions of pylon section optimization were proposed.
