Jiangnan Traditional Street Space Constitute And Modern Inspir Of Thinking

The ancient South Street is a typical traditional settlement in the southernpart of Jiangsu province which is a nice representative of the traditionalJiangnan settlements. It contains a wealth of material and non-materialcultural heritagical information. These imformation are recorded to reflect theevolution of the development process of the Yixing Dingshu region SettlementSpace, have precious historical and cultural value. The study of traditionalJiangnan Street Space just as the ancient South Street provide importantevidence of method and interference of case studies.The research of adaptiveprotection on ancient south street will have a good guide for other ancientstreets in the future.Street space of Traditional settlement is a multi-level concept that can bedivided into macro, meso and micro levels. In this paper we are trying toanalysis the space street of the ancient South Street from three levels step bystep.First we analysis the overall spatial form of the ancient South Streetdistrict from the macro-level; and then we analysis the spatial form of theinternal street from the meso-level. In this part we focus on neighborhoodspace analysis; at last we analysis the internal space elements frommicro-level,including appropriately supplementing and selecting some typicalspatial form of architectural inner space and courtyard to analysis. In thispaper,we also put study on the relationgship between the spatial form andhuman behavior.
