Study On Daokou Ancient Town In Henan Street Space And Traditional Architecture

As the only remaining rural settlement of the Grand Canal in Henan area,Daokou Ancient Town has nealy a thousand years of history of the canal. The WeiRiver that it relys on is an important part of the inscription of the Sui and Tangdynasties Grand Canal, which was released in2013for the seventh batch of nationalkey cultural relics protection units. Daokou Ancient Town as a provincial famoushistorical and cultural towns, there are many cultural relics, such as ancient buildings,docks ancient city walls, etc, and actively decalred national historical and culturaltowns in2013.Under the above two cultural backgrounds, the stuy of Daokou AncientTown has both the academic value and practical significance.Now there exist more than40traditional alleys in Daokou Ancient Town, asthe town’s streets skeleton space, they not only witnessed the development of thecanal towns, also built a very unique crossing living environment. Traditionalarchitechture, which reflect the ancient town morphological characteristics ofdifferent periods, are the basic elements of the town’s spatial composition.This study conducted a systematic study in the view of culture, and the basementof this is "historical and cultural towns in Henan Road Town Conservation Plan".This is a study about the crossing town in depth, it combines environmental science,history, geography and other disciplines theory, integrated technology roadmapmethod. Firstly, make detailed study and research on the nature, culture and history ofDaokou Ancient Town from geographical features, transportation, economiccharacteristics, social culture, evolution of the morphology and other aspects.Secondly, clear up the components and relationship between alleys of the town space.Focuses on the space structure and evolution of the streets, then summarize themorphological characteristics complemented by an analysis of typical cases.Moreover, explore the traditional architectural features of the town from building type,spatial layout, construction technology, architectural culture and other aspects. Finally,propose different levels of protection and utilization strategies for the preservationstatus of the town.
