The Construction Of Sense Of Place In The Design Of Chateau

Sense of place is absent in some of the landscape design works today. The resonancebetween the site and the users is not strong, this deteriorate and the design level and the usingeffect. By emphasizing the relationship between human and landscape places,"Sense of place"not only focuses on physical character of places but also on human psychological experience,so people’s perception and experience become a part of the design and practice research.This paper consists of two aspects of sense of place, one is "spirit of place" and the secondplace is the "places attachment ".Sense of place consists two aspects and they affects theperception of the users in the place, this article analysis two sides respectively. The theory ofthe construction of sense of place is combined with the design of chateau in the following part.The analysis is carried on from the perspective of users. The character of place, the feelings ofusers are both considered during this process.On the basis of theoretical research, some cases of chateau are analyzed; it is to preparethe following part of further practice. The exploration of practical areas confirms the feasibilityof theory though this process, the discussion of the construction of sense of place, the elementsof the construction are used to design a practical area, which reflects the site’s natural featuresand cultural characteristics, the functional and aesthetic, and experience are better describedthough this process to build the sense of place.
