Impeller, which is the core of the centrifugal pump, the design rate and hydraulicsperformance affect the development cycle and competitiveness a lot. In this paper, in order tosave the costs on validating and optimizing the hydraulic performance, parametric modelingmethod is used to reduce the time on model building, the software FLUENT is applied toanalyze the internal flow field in centrifugal pump impeller to save the test cost.In this paper, the general CAD technology is analyzed, based on the double suctioncentrifugal pump impeller, aiming at the shortcomings of the double suction impeller,applying the parametric technology by the platform of the SolidWorks software, developedthe system of parametric modeling for the double-suction impeller, prepared to the analysis ofimpeller internal flow field.In recent years, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology has been successfullyused in analyzing internal flow field in centrifugal pump, in this paper, on the basis ofparametric modeling, applying the software FLUENT analyzed the internal flow field incentrifugal pump, and the impeller optimization is discussed at the same time.In this paper, the results of this study as follows:(1) Aiming at the purpose of flow analysis, the suitable modeling solution is studied.(2) Applying the parametric modeling technology, reduced the impeller design personnelof duplication greatly and improved the design efficiency.(3) On the basis of the parametric modeling, applying the software FLUENT analyzed theinternal flow field in centrifugal pump, provided a calculation basis for subsequent parametersoptimization. The calculation results show that applying the software FLUENT to analysis theinternal flow field in centrifugal pump impeller is feasible.(4) On the basis of the parametric modeling, discussed the impeller optimization scheme.In low specific-speed centrifugal pumps, bias short blade can greatly improve the delivery lift,a large number of numerical calculations show that the bias short blade can decrease the wakeflow region at some level, but not sure on Hydraulic efficiency. In this paper, the optimal inletdiameter is370mm, at this point, the increased ratio of delivery lift is9.96%, and theincreased ratio of hydraulic efficiency is0.74%.
