Currently, large-scale development of China’s urbanization have a significant impact on the existing natural conditions, there are a large number of water impermeable surface such as roofs, streets, parking lots, et,, which not only changes the landscape there, but also makes the developing region lost its natural water-retention capacity in the area of urban. At the same time, global climate change caused storm water happened frequently, leading to the tremendously increasing of the amount and the rate of urban storm water runoff. Facing all the above issues, it has been unable to handle the problems efficiently with current drainage infrastructure in the context of rapid urbanization. Therefore, research on this topic is mainly focusing on the related technology considering the mitigation of urban storm water in city parks, trying to make the City Park becoming a kind of green infrastructure dealing with urban storm water problems.Through a comprehensive study of the United States storm flood best management practices BMPs, this study emphasized on the theoretical mechanisms including the definitions, the advantages, and the technical systems, and after introducing relevant cases, analyzed and responded them from the landscape perspective, in order to establish a more efficient system managing storm water in the city park. This topic also takes Daan Forest Park in Taipei as specific, considering the effect of practical use of this construction planning, design, maintenance methods, etc. The results of the specific topic are as follows:(1) Summarized the research progress of domestic and foreign storm water management measures, analyzed the new trend of the storm water management:from traditional direct discharge of storm waterto the green infrastructure with urban green space for storm water retention, penetration, and filtration. And in the various management measures for storm water, taking best management practices BMPs as a widely proven technology system.(2) Analyzed the scope of the application of storm water best management practices BMPs, as well as directly or indirectly advantages on controlling the storm water quantity and quality.(3) Based on the storm water best management practices BMPs technology system, defining the practic range including watershed management, non-structural measures and structural measures method.(4) Analyzed the catchment management planning in storm water best management practices BMPs, which includes the delimitation of boundaries in the catchment area, the assessment of natural resources, the collection of water quality/quantity information, the determination of the human factors associated with the catchment area, the determination of the aims in the catchment area, and making sure the approaches for reaching the goals.(5) Analyzed the non-structural measures in storm water best management practices BMPs, namely, the relevant laws, regulations, public education, public participation, supervision and management measures.(6) Analyzed the related methods of structural measures in storm water best management practices BMPs, namely, the measures controlling the storm water in a construction site, as well as the measures including retention facilities, infiltration facilities and filtration facilities,.(7) Taking Daan Forest Park as a specific objective, introducing watershed management, storm water calculation, non-structural measures, structural measures, related management measures and maintenance measures, which provide a practical guideline for handling related issues about storm water management in the future.
