The Error Detection module is used in leakage cancellation system, the module canextract the amplitude and phase information of the leakage signal in the system. One ormore mixers are used in order to downconvert the frequency of the leakage signal to alower one, which can be recognised and extracted by the DSP module. According to therequirements of the RF leakage cancellation system, the double convertion scheme isdesigned in the following works. The module is composed by a single side-bandmixer(SSM), a down-conversion mixer and a power amplifier. However, it’s rare to findsingle side-band mixers(SSM) working at millimeter wave band, the design of suchmixer would be of great significance.In the first chapter, a brief introduction about the origin of the Error DetectionModule, as well as the overseas and domestic research status are presented. In thesecond chapter, the theory and composition of the Error Detection Module are presented,also the two common structures of the module are introduced and analyzed. In the thirdchapter, the theory and structure of the passive circuits which used in this module areintoduced. Especially the planar power dividers and couplers working at W-band,what’s more, a novel Wikinson power divider is designed and measured. In order to geta good performance of the module, the coupling ring is used to realize the powerdividing and coupling dure to it’s simple structure.In the forth chapter, the theory andstructure of the active circuits which used in this module are intoduced. The operatingprinciple of mixer and amplifier is presented. And the appropriate mixer and amplifier isselected for the module. In the fifth chaper, the integral structure of the module isdesigned, the RF circuit and lower frequency circuit are designed on different sides ofthe cavity. Then, complete the fabrication, debugging and testing of the Error Detectionmodule. Then the measured results is analyzed in detail, and the error detection moduleworking at3mm band is designed. In the last chapter, the measured results are analyzed,and sum up relevant experience.
