Butterfly-shaped arch bridge is a kind of elegant bridge structures, and more applied inurban bridge construction in recent years, even as the symbol of the city. Due to theparticularity of such bridge model, the structure and the structure of the mechanical behaviorthan ordinary Bridges is much more complicated. Taking Xi’an city a built bridge as theengineering background, using the large finite element software Midas/Civil to establish themodel of vibration response, stability problem and the butterfly type arch bridge. This paper research and analyze the development of the butterfly shaped arch bridge athome and abroad, and the present research on stability. Expounding the geometric nonlinearfinite element theory and material nonlinearity finite element theory, by using the stability ofthe arch structure theory, the finite element software to simulate the arch bridge stabilityproblem. Considered two load cases: one is the only bare arch, one is weight+dead load, Oneis the weight+dead load+live load. Respectively to calculate the three conditions offirst-order buckling characteristic value, and load condition is obtained by the correspondingbuckling mode. From the bending stiffness of the arch rib and arch rib inclination of the twoaspects to analyze the stability of arch bridge, get two parameters variation relationship withthe stability of arch bridge.Arch bridge was calculated using the subspace iteration method, the top20, mode shapesand modal characteristics of the arch bridge is analyzed. In terms of seismic response analysis, according to 《the detailed rules for the earthquake resistant design for highway Bridges》 E1seismic action CQC modal combination method is adopted to improve the seismic responsespectrum analysis, respectively, considering the elevated to ground motion accelerationresponse spectrum. cross the bridge to the ground motion response spectrum and the verticalbridge to the role of ground motion response spectrum Analyzes the three directions of groundvibration caused by the changes of the structure internal force value and the curves ofdisplacement of arch rib.
