The cold and heat source of air-conditioners now frequently used in China arefossil-fueled like coals, petroleum, natural gas, etc. The energy structure is irrational,especially the coal which takes large proportion of now used source. It’s the low-usage energyand it has great pollution to the environment. With the sustainable development of society,when we choose the cold and heat source of air-conditioners, we should focus more onhigh-usage energy and protecting the environment. Considering The Twelfth Five-Year Plan,the energy conservation and emission reduction is more vital. In order to fulfill the task ofenergy conservation and emission reduction, the government emphasizes and takes greatefforts to develop seven emerging industries, the first of seven is the development andutilization of geothermal energy. So the development of GSHP is an important measure ofachieving energy conservation and emission reduction. Chengdu has been the nationaldemonstration city of renewable energy in building applications. This article carries on aresearch of the applicability and economical efficiency of GSHP in air conditioning system inChengdu which based on the development tendency of GSHP in air-conditioning system, withvarious problems happened in engineering design and applications.This passage choose some villa of Chengdu as a representative, by using Hongyesoftware to work out the cooling and heating load, designing and selecting models of kinds ofair conditioning system in this zone. This passage takes comparisons, analysis and researchWater-cooled screw+Gas Boiler air conditioning system, VRV air conditioning system andGSHP air conditioning system. Then using Building energy simulation software eQUEST toanalyze the energy simulation of some different air conditioning systems of this villa, itsimulates out the energy consumption of three systems. According to the simulating results,analyzing from the consumption of primary energy, primary energy ratio, operation bills andthe impact on the environment, it comes to a conclusion of the applicability of GSHP in villaarea in Chengdu. By analyzing four aspects of initial cost, life cycle cost, annual cost andthermo economics cost to obtain the economical efficiency of GSHP in air conditioningsystem in villa area in Chengdu.By analysis it draws a conclusion that GSHP in air conditioning system is reasonable andeconomical in the application of villas in Chengdu.
