With the development of China’s construction industry and people’s material andcultural living standards, the energy consumption of building is increased rapidly,obviously the proportion of air condition energy consumption. The extent ofenvironmental pollution is increased by the air conditioning energy consumption, and thegrowth also bring great pressure to the electricity grid system operation. Because thecentral air conditioning system is built and used rapidly in recent years, the electric loaddifference in summer peak is increased sharply, and the power supply is seriouslyinsufficient in the peak hours, and the electricity grid load rate is decreased. At the sametime, the instablility of air conditioning load brings great hidden danger to the electricgrid. So the peak load shifting problem becomes very urgent, and the peak and valleyprice policy is set down in many districts. This situation provides a good condition to theapplication of energy storage air-conditioning, and the technology made directcontribution to the electric grid peak load shifting effectively.Design calculation and economic evaluation method of cold source project isstudied on the basis of the energy storage air conditioning theory. Take a30000m2officebuilding as the object of research, different cold source project is compared by theestimation of the project investment and the annual operation cost. The applicationcriteria of storage air conditioning is presented by contrast. Increasing investment isunreasonable evaluation criteria in a short payoff time, but considering the social benefitsis reasonable. Government should continue to provide policy support to the energystorage technology. The results have reference value to the engineering application ofenergy storage air conditioning.
