Ground source heat pump technology, as one of the renewable energy application technologies, has been developed rapidly in China, and has obtained great support from the nation. But at the same time, the actual performance of GSHP was often ignored. Therefore, it is necessary to test and evaluate the performance of GSHP system. In 2006, the National Treasury and the Ministry of construction of housing and city started the construction of demonstration projects of renewable energy applications. It pointed out that detection and evaluation are required in demonstration projects. In 2008, the renewable energy demonstration project evaluation guide was promulgated. The testing contents and methods of evaluation were described in detail, making the evaluation process more standardized.Firstly, the detecting content, methods, conditions, equipments of GSHP system were introduced in this paper. And some typical problems during detecting process and the corresponding solutions were presented. Then the specific content of evaluation on ground source heat pump system was expounded from the technology, energy conservation, environmental protection and other aspects, including various indexes and its calculation method. Based on the theory and method described above, detailed analysis of a ground source heat pump project in Hefei running in summer was performed. Finally, the observed phenomenon about "large flow rate with small temperature difference" was analyzed. The effect on the ground source heat pump system efficiency value caused by low temperature difference between chilled water inlet and outlet was analyzed in theory, and a solution to solve this phenomenon was put forward.Through the research of this paper, technical guidance for detection and assessment of the ground source heat pump system can be provided. And it can be used in improving the running efficiency of the system and energy saving reconstruction. The paper helps to suit one’s measures to local conditions, and leads to more reasonable design of ground source heat pump system.
