With the increasingly tense energy situation, and social progress and economicdevelopment, people are increasingly high requirements for energy, seeking newenergy sources has become an urgent issue of the humanity having to face. Solarenergy, as a green energy source, is increasingly attached importance in the world.Introducing the solar-energy photovoltaic technology in LED lighting application isan energy saving trial.This paper focuses on the research and development of the LED solarstreet-lighting control system. Firstly, the paper introduces the development trend ofphotovoltaic lighting systems and LED lighting at home and abroad, followed by thecharacteristics of the solar cells, lead-acid batteries, and white LED. Secondly, thepaper elaborates topologies using in the LED driver power supply. Based on thesimulative and analysis, a7W-mining lamp and4W solar bulb are designed. The testresults of spectral characteristics of them verify they meet the lighting requirements.Then, the paper carries out road simulation and lighting design for the LED streetlighting system by using Germany Dialux lighting software, which is a important forthe design of solar street lights. In the LED solar street lighting system, the lightingcontroller is very important, whose performance determines the pros and cons of theentire solar street lighting control system. Taking into account factors of reliabilityand cost, the design chooses C8051F410microcontroller as the control core, adoptsthe KYL-610module to construct the wireless data transmission network. Thehardware and software design are described in detail. In the design, the solar energycontroller and high efficiency LED constant current source is integrated in one system.Using pulse width modulation charging and discharging technology in batterymanagement makes the system optimization, which can effectively reduce costs andincrease the flexibility of the system. The used PWM dimming technology enables theLED color temperature performs exceptionally well, even in different brightness LEDcolor cast strictly uniform. The4-period dimming technology allows LED working indifferent power, and the work time of each power can be easily set, which makes thecontrol of the load more intelligent and flexible.
