In order to understand the characteristics of mountain river-type reservoir landslidesurge, and the influence to the channel, the project select typical reservoir-the ThreeGorges reservoir as the research object, studied some of the basic features of theoriginal wave, the compare of three elements between the original wave and thesynthesized wave, the calculation of the maximum initial surge, and the calculation ofcorrelation coefficient between the maximum initial surge and the progressive wave, andthe coefficient of energy exchange between solid and flow, and attenuation coefficientof progressive wave, by field investigation, sink model tests, numerical calculation andthe theoretical analysis technical means. Based on this, analysis the impact of landslidesurge on the fairway and the failure mechanism of regulation structures, and determinethe scope of the safe navigation of the ship. The innovation of this project:solved the landslide surge laboratory simulationtechnology; analyzed the main characteristics and the law of landslide surgepropagation; gave the formulas of correlation coefficient between the maximum initialsurge and the progressive wave, and the coefficient of energy exchange between solidand flow, and attenuation coefficient of progressive wave; determined the surge’simpact scope and extent to the safe navigation of the ship; developed an assessmentinformation system on the influence extent of navigable conditions that caused bylandslide surge. In the process of the derivation of each formula, calculated values and measuredvalues have been carried on error analysis in this paper, and the reliability of eachformula has also been proved. Results of this paper can not only be applied directly toport, waterway engineering and navigation safety management in the Three Gorges,Wujiang Pengshui, Yingpan and Baima reservoir and so on, but also can be extended toother mountainous river reservoirs affected by the landslide.
