Throughout the wharf structure, bank connecting structure plays an important rolein connecting the front platform and rear yard, directly related to the safe operation ofthe whole terminal. So the bank connecting structure is very important. The stability ofthe bank connecting structure helps to improve the stability of slope, so the researchingof slope with the impact of the bank connecting structure has an extremely importantrole in the civil engineering. Considering the interaction between pile and slope,analysis the interaction with banked connecting structure and slope will helpconstructing the entire terminal.The bank connecting structure of the blind sheet pile has been applied in harborengineering. Due to the existence of blind piles, when the structure is subjected toexternal loads the soil between the blind piles or back of the blind piles shows adifferent stress and then produces a different displacements. Near piles the soil has asmall displacements, it has a large displacement between blind piles yet. It is for thisreason that the difference stress and displacements between blind piles, the soil archingeffect has been formed. The research of the soil arching effect in the bank connectingstructure of the blind sheet pile has not mature enough and its load transfer mechanismand the pile-soil load sharing ratio are different with anti-slide piles.In this paper, on the basis of the sheet pile wharf theoretical studies as well as thetheory of anti-slide pile it researched the bank connecting structure of the blind sheetpile:1. According to the bearing characteristics and mechanical mechanism about theblind sheet pile wharf structure as well as the research of soil arching effect of theanti-slide pile the paper has researched the pile-soil interaction about bank connectingstructure of the blind sheet pile. There are a lot of factors affected the soil arching effect.Take the nature of the pile, soil parameters, the spacing of blind piles or structure typeand so on. They have a certain influence on soil arching effect. In these factors, thespacing of blind piles, soil parameters and the deformation of the pile have a greatestinfluence on soil arching effect.2. Using the finite element software this paper has doing a numerical analysisabout the bank connecting structure of the blind sheet pile. It also researched about the soil stress between blind piles and pile-soil load sharing ratio. It found that the sun ofthe load sharing ratio at back of blind pile and between the blind piles is100%. With theincrease of the cohesion and angle of internal friction, the load sharing ratio about theblind pile has increased, and when these two factors increase to a certain extent, theeffect of pile blinds do not changed significantly.3. In the3-D finite element study, the paper has also researched the soil stressvariation of the blind piles about the bank connecting structure at the different of thespacing of blind piles and soil parameters. Because of the blind piles, the soil archingeffect has been formed when the bank connecting structure bearing an external loads. Inthis case, the load by the front sheet pile has decreased, so the soil arching effect has acertain blind and improving the overall carrying capacity about the bank connectingstructure.
