Cam rotor pump is a non-contact positive-displacement pump. Because of its small size,simple structure, light weight, easy maintenance and removal, it is widely used in variousfields of chemical, food and pharmaceutical and so on. With the rapid development ofeconomy, the market for rotor pump performance requirements are getting higher and higher,how to further improve the performance of rotor pump is very important significance toaccelerate the development of rotor pump. In order to further improve the performance ofrotor pump, the paper adopts three lobe cam rotor pump as the research object and bases onFLUENT software of the fluid mechanics,the paper study numerical simulation onthree-dimensional internal flow field of three lobe cam rotor pump, results provide valuablereference for rotor pump design and the optimized design. The main work of this paper are asfollows:(1) To the circular arc and envelope was linear rotor pump as the research object, byPRO/E three-dimensional drawing software, the outside edge of the envelope and linear endtype line and helical of rotor pump was parameterized modeling section, three-dimensionalmodel of three lobe cam rotor and case was established, then the cabinet of three-dimensionalcalculation model was set up. Rotor is as the key part of rotor pump, mesh clearance betweenrotors is very important.Through the simulation module of PRO/E, cam lobe rotor of rotorpump was vertically inspect.No interference inspection can improve accuracy of thenumerical analysis module.(2) Application of computational fluid dynamic stheory, using the non-uniformgrid at thejunction surface of import, export and exercise area of the cam rotor pump, besides using thestandard wall function method in near-wall region, and taking the dynamic grid with springfairing model and the partialre construction model to make it possible to get internal turbulentflow numerical simulation,variation of the internal flow,Mechanism ofvolumetric efficiencydecreases and flow instantaneous pulsation curve of cam rotor pump. Through the comparative analysis of the simulation and experimental values of the volumetric efficiency, the error is inthe range of allowable error, and the efficiency curve trend is basically the same, indicatingthat the numerical simulation result sarecredible and reliable.(3) On the basis of the numerical simulation,through the quantitative and qualitativeanalysis of cam rotor pump performance,obtaining the variation of radial clearance andrevolving speed to the volumetric efficiency of the rotor pump,which provides a trend towardsimprovement to further optimization design.The results show that: the radial clearance androtational speed have a big impact on the performance of the rotor pump.With the increase ofthe radial clearance,the volumetric efficiency will then decrease,and the larger of the workingpressure, the bigger of that impact.Rotor pump flow rotor speed is linear related with rotorspeed, but the higher of the speed, the higher quality demand on the pump,and the lowercapacity of the transmission medium.The analytic clearance is in the range of0.1-0.2mm,andthe rotation speed of the rotor is in the range of200-600rpm,which makes the rotor pump havethe better working performance.This research method can be also appropriate for the design ofother products.
