As the critical part of urban water supply system, water supply network hasthe characteristic of fundamentality, openness and complexity, which made itdifficult for water suppliers to maintain and manage. Making sure that the watersupply network function securely and reliably is the foundation of the normal lifeof urban residents and the sustainable development and consruction of the cities.Nowdays, the assessment of operation condition for water supply network stillstays at qualitative and single index stage, lacking of quantitative systematicdiagnosis methods. This paper carried out a set of health diagnosis system, whichmade it possible to realize the quantitative comprehensive assessment of watersupply network. That diagnosis system is of great significance for theimprovement of the level of the operation and management of water supplier aswell as the upgrading of the networks.In this paper, the connotation and influencing factors of water healthdiagnosis are elaboratec in details. The selection criteria of the indexs of thediagnosis system ara established. On this basis, considering the situation of watersupply network of M city, a evaluation system which included4hierchies(namely object hierarchy, rule hierarchy, element hierarchy and index hierarchy)and13bottom indexs was established. Based on grey system theory, greycorrelation degree analysis was carried out and the variation trend of the impactwhich different material, interface, pipe age, burial depth and diameter has on pipeaccidents were confirmd.The grading criterion of was divided into5: health,sub-health, general pathological, moderately pathological and critical sick. Forquantitative indexs and qualitative indexs, taking corresponding methods tocalculate the membership sets.According to the comparison of the existing weightcalculation methods and the analysis of the characteristic of the weight of theindexs in the health diagnosis system, both the subjective AHP method and theobjective entropy weight method were choosed to calculated the weight ofdiagnosis indexs, then the weight was determined.After determing the memberships and fused weight of all indexs, multi-levelfuzzy comprehensive assessment was taken to diagnosis the health condition of thenetworks from M city. The results shown that the diagnosis model is practical.
