Cable Dome, as a practical large-span flexible structure, was founded by Geiger ofUnited States engineer. Since this structure appeared, more engineers and researchershave been attracted by its high structural efficiency. Domestic and foreign research hasbeen very mature on the properties of cable dome structure of dynamic and static force,but very few studies on its construction technology. This is also one of the key factorsfor affecting the cable dome structure applications.Based on the first cable dome structure of China, after consulting many previousliteratures, the advantages and characteristics, working mechanism and the engineeringapplication of structure is summarized in this paper,The main research contents of thispaper are put forward according to its research states.Flexible cable dome structure in the process of tensioning construction containslarge deformation, the rigid body displacement and rotation, the process has the stronggeometric nonlinear characteristic. So the forming analysis of cable dome structuremust adopt nonlinear finite element method.The general construction method of cable dome was tensioned near the structureform, and the tension forming analysis is only near the equilibrium position, so it didnot react the whole process of construction for components directly from the ground upto the equilibrium position. This article adopts the method of inverse simulation, usingthe large scale general finite element software ANSYS and its element birth or deathtechnology, analysis the the integral lifting process of the cable dome structure, andcompared with actual testing data,which verified the correctness and feasibility of simulation analysis.In order to study the effect of random construction error on the initial prestressdistribution of cable dome structure,this article will studies the effect of all cableconstruction error on the initial prestress distribution of cable dome structure based onthe mixed sensitivity analysis method of monte carlo method and response surfacemethod, by using reliability analysis module of ANSYS.
