Research On The Construction Of Xi’an Green Garden Undering The "Ecological Garden City"

In today’s world, the economy is highly developed while the environment isconstantly under threat. Following the speedy advance of industrialization, togetherwith abuse of natural environment by human, a series of problems arise. For instance,green environment is greatly reduced; the water quality decline; the air is seriouslypolluted; water and soil loss is severe; and many plants and animals are endangered.Today people have to face serious ecological problems such as haze air and pollutedwater which are closely related to human survival and development. As the direct livingenvironment, city is also facing huge ecological crisis.Starting from the objective, philosophy, guiding principles and basic standards ofecological garden city construction, the author of this thesis holds that the so calledgarden city and sustainable city equally fall into the same framework, which makesit easy to compare the construction achievement at home and abroad horizontally.Following the national garden city proposed by Chinese government, the ecologicalgarden city set off a wave of construction. This is a city construction model which is inaccordance with the current situation of China’s society.It indicates that Chinesegovernment holds the awareness of ecosystem construction in face of ecological crisis,also includes the element of city garden construction. The combination of these twoelements aims to constructing garden greens with city characteristics as well as cityenvironment suitable for human survival and development. It can be seen that since2004, several cities in China have took ecological garden city as the developmentobjective. China has a vast land where the regional differences are great, ranging fromsouthern rainforest to lands of ice and snow in the north. Therefore, under the standards issued by the central government concerning ecological garden city construction, thelocal governments are struggling to find locally suitable approach for development.Objective and significance of this research are mainly generated from the citylandscape benefit establishes the importance of construction of city landscape. Theecological garden city focus at the level of Xi’an city green space construction. As anancient city with thousand years of cultural deposits located in west China, Xi’an needsto develop a construction plan which is suitable to its local condition.actively explorethe construction of green space approach suitable for their own, and the construction ofecological garden city is a important part of Greenland formulated in accordance withthe construction strategy of its own characteristics. And used the methods of literature,comparative analysis, data collection, sampling analysis and field research,Thencombined the construction principles of city garden greens, through field survey of thecurrent situation of garden greens in Xi’an, this thesis summaries the characteristics ofXi’an garden greens construction and points out the inadequacies, challenges andopportunity as well as corresponding construction principle and method. Also this thesisproposes some suggestions for Xi’an garden greens construction. Has certain practicalsignificance.
