With the rapid recovery and development of Chinese economy, large amount of infrastructures for industry enterprise and urban residents require to be rebuilt. In order to reduce labor force, shorten time limit for a project, save costs and achieve a better result, controlled blasting provides us a good choice. As to the abandoned buildings, only scientific blasting designs can guarantee their reasonable collapses, which protect the people and other buildings around. In recent years, controlled blasting becomes sound and fast. However, there’re still some problems. For example, the choices of the parameters over rely on the engineering experience; the researches on the movement law of deformation while buildings are collapsing could go further. Besides, the predictability of effects and harm on blasting is not especially reliable. All the problems happened remind us of taking some measures as soon as possible, which is the original stand point of this paper. The advanced computer simulation technology is adopted to conquer these issues after prudent decision. So far, high-level software named ANSYS/LS-DYNA is highly accepted in engineering simulation. We intend to bring it in the collapsing process of an office building and a three-floor frame structures. During the computer simulation, ferroconcrete-based unitary finite element model is established by material MAT PLASTIC KINEMATIC unit SOLID164, keyword MAT_ADD_EROSION is used to control both the failure of the material and the blow-up gap formation which is decided by time switch. Also, this paper simulates a series of sequences after collapsing process, such as blow-up heap, distance from the surround buildings as well as the distribution of the overall stress. Compare with the practical engineering, the results of simulation is highly authentic and has low error by taking on account of eternal factors. Meanwhile, a phenomenon that the frame structure without load bearing wall is more likely to fall down is discovered. In this paper, several simulation schemes are designed not only for the practical blasting. In practice, the effects of these plans require to be exam to sort out which are the best. Take advantage of computer simulating technology, changing the optional parameters such as altering the blasting height from1.2meters to1.6ameters, extending the bomb time of the exploders or cutting down the detonation dose repeatedly, observe and compare the results so as to select the optimal parameters. This is another purpose of this paper. In summary, the simulation results prove that the method combines finite element and software ANSYS/LS-DYNA together to analyze controlled blasting process to the collapse of buildings is feasible, which plays a significant guiding function in the theoretic research on building controlled blasting demolish as well as the demolished designs.
