Slope stability analysis is one of the important research subjects in geotechnicalengineering, which involves many aspects of the construction of the national economy, suchas architecture, railway, highway, mining, water conservancy, shipping, etc. On the one hand,it is related to the normal use of various structures that maintained. On the other hand, it alsoaffects the construction cost of structures. Therefore, how to transform and use slopeefficiently, how to prevent the landslide disaster from happening, how to fulfill the needs ofmodern engineering construction safety. All those make the study of slope stability analysisand its reinforcement methods an important issues faced by engineers. There is no need to assume the shape and position of sliding surface of slope when weuse a more rigorous theoretical system—finite element method to conduct slope stabilityanalysis. Meanwhile it can fully satisfy the static equilibrium, deformation coordination, andthe constitutive relationship between stresses—strain. This thesis first focused on thenonlinear finite element theory, and expounded the basic principle of finite element strengthsubtraction, its calculation formula and the implementation in ANSYS. Then adopted themethod of finite element strength subtraction and the finite element analysis software ANSYSto conduct stability analysis towards the calculation examples of typical slope, and comparedwith the result of the limit equilibrium method. The paper also discussed the relationship ofthree criteria of the slope instability, different yield criterion, the influence brought by thedeformation modulus ’E’ and poison’s ratio ’v’ to the slope safety factor. The analysis of reinforcement and slope stability of traditional anti—slide pile all avoidthe pile—soil interaction in different extent. While this thesis put the pile—soil interactioninto consideration and adopted ANSYS to conduct stability analysis towards the calculationexamples of typical slope basing on the analysis adopted the finite element strengthsubtraction. This thesis discussed the influences brought by the position of pile, pile headconstraints, pile diameter, pile’s bending rigidity, the cohesive force of soil ’c’ and internalfriction angle’φ’to the stability of slope reinforced.
