As the rapid development of transportation industry, the mileage of expresswaysincreases obviously. The study of charging of trucks on highway becomes the main point oftransportation industry. In China, highway in most provinces adopts charging by the weight.Charging by weight insures the rationality and justification in the charging of trucks andprevents overload and overrun of trucks on highway. However, to escape the toll, somedrivers do not drive through the scale in a standard way. This makes the weighting precisiondecreasing obviously; and also prevents the mass appealing of charging by weight on highway.In consideration of charging by weight on highway are obviously influenced by the humanfactor, this paper considers installing deceleration strip before the scale to increase theprecision of dynamic weighing-appliance. Although deceleration strip can prevent driversdrive through the scale in a non-standard way, the deceleration strip has some impact tovehicles when they pass through and causes vibration of the vehicle’s suspension. By studyingthe dynamic characteristics of vehicle and the impact of deceleration strip to the velocity, ridecomfort, security, and handling stability of vehicle, finally get the optimum distance betweenthe scale and the deceleration strip using simulation experiment and bench test.This paper chooses three-axis trucks as the object of study, aiming to find out thereasonable position of the deceleration strip. So the deceleration strip can not only preventdrivers’ non-standard operate, but also eliminate the influence of the suspension’s vibration tothe precision of the scale. In the study, Using theoretical modeling and experiment gets thereasonable position of the deceleration strip, and the result of this study can guide theoperations. The specific researches involve:(1) Firstly, this paper states the basic composition, structure, operating principle, andwork process of the charging system, and analyzes the dynamic characteristic of the dynamicweighing system. Then the paper builds the dynamical model of the dynamic weighingsystem. In the last, the paper analyzes the influence of the vehicle’s dynamical characteristicto the error of the weighing-appliance.(2) This paper analyzes the speed control principle of the deceleration strip, and divides the process of the vehicle’s passing through the deceleration strip into three processes: theimpacting of tire with the deceleration strip, vehicle’s vibration on the deceleration, vehicle’sfalling to the ground. The paper analyzes the three processes; builds the model of thedeceleration strip; builds five degree of freedom half vehicle dynamic model; builds thecritical leaping speed model; and in the last constructs a good simulation system.(3) This paper builds the dynamic simulation model of three-axis heavy commercialvehicle, and confirms the vehicle parameter and suspension parameter. Then the paper buildsthe deceleration strip model. Based on Matlab Simulink, simulation software simulatevehicles’ vibration characteristic in the speed of0.5m/s,1.0m/s,1.5m/s,1.945m/s passingthrough the deceleration strip. As the speed of the vehicle increasing, the maximumacceleration of the vehicle’s cancroids increase. For three-axis trucks, the minimum distancebetween the scale and the deceleration strip is12.16m.(4) This paper introduces the basic structure, operating principle of the commercialvehicle text system. Then the paper analyzes and confirms the experimental apparatus,preparation of the experiment, procedure of the experiment. Using vehicles’ vibrationcharacteristic in the speed of0.5m/s,1.0m/s,1.5m/s,1.945m/s passing through thedeceleration strip, the experiment shows that as the velocity increasing, the maximumacceleration of the vehicle’s cancroids increase; for three-axis trucks, the minimum distancebetween the scale and the deceleration strip is12.16m. in the last, the paper compares andanalyzes the result of the simulation and the bench run, and obtain the main cause of the errorof the experiment.
