With the rapid development of highway construction in our country,more and moreattention to be paid to the testing work of the line highway roadbed, road surface and roadsidefacilities. How to efficiently, objectively and accurately test and evaluate technical conditionsof the line highway roadbed, road surface and roadside facilities has important significancesto the maintenance work of the line highway in our country.The project introduced detection technologies and related equipments of road surface androadside facilities at home and abroad in great detail; put forward the line highwaymaintenance method, which took the road detection vehicle as the carrier and based on thedigital image photogrammetry technology; carried out the hardware integration and softwaredevelopment. This paper mainly conducted the following work:1. Analysed the test method of pavement damage with a single digital CCD camerathoroughly, which based on the shoot measuring principle of the digital camera for roadsurface and roadside facilities. and explored the calculation method of road surface androadside facilities stereo-photogrammetric with two digital CCD cameras.2. Designed the hardware architecture of the road detection vehicle combining with theactual needs of the line highway, which can test road surface and roadside facilities;introduced selection methods of the main hardware and technical performances. Hardwaredevices of the road detection vehicle which were studied in this paper consisted of the imageacquisition system which contains digital array CCD camera and Image acquisition card, thepositioning system which consists of GPS and photoelectric encoder, the database of the linehighway maintenance and the wireless data transmission system which constitute3G wirelesstransmission module and the data acquisition, storage and processing system which conductedby Industrial Personal Computer with the vehicle.3. This paper analysed the theory of digital camera calibration in detail, solving methodsof the digital camera parameters calibration and image fusion methods which shoot with twodigital cameras were given.4. Analysed the composition of the road detection vehicle image acquisition, storage, and processing software; designed digital image acquisition and processing software andconducted road test experiment of the camera calibration.It realized the detection technology of the line road surface and roadside facilities basedon digital image by theoretical analysis, the hardware and software development andexperiment, which can meet the needs of the line highway maintenancemanagement.
