The Study Of Guangdong Three Gorges Immigrants Community Renovation In Planning And Architecture Design

Some of the Three Gorges immigrants moved to other provinces andcities outside the Three Gorges area in the Three Gorges immigrants resettlement project. Butin certain province like Guangdong, immigrant settlements have shown many shortcomingsand deficiencies at planning and architecture design level, which affects the new life anddevelopment of the immigration.Some communities need an improvement and rebirthurgently. Therefore, the research of the improvement of immigrant community in Guangdongprovince has a great practical significance.Firstly, through the research dynamic of development of the immigrant communitiesboth at home and abroad as well as the analysis of theory, the paper makes communitydevelopment and updates theory, architectural anthropology, and the Genius Loci asthe theoretical perspective of the research..Then, through the investigation of the overview ofresettlement in Guangdong and the induction of the first-hand information gathered by fieldresearch as well as interviews at immigrant communities, with its analysis, and summary,thepaper put forward the problem of Guangdong Three Gorges immigrant communities at siteselection, residential planning, architecture design and other sides. After that, it gives acompare about the difference of Guangdong Three Gorges migrants resettlement and theresettlement which was in the Three Gorges area to figure out the characteristicsof resettlement in Guangdong. And then it put out target of the alteration. In the nextchapter, on the basis of the former analysis of the present problem and comparison,considering the local policy and the need of the immigrants, the paper bring forward differentmode of alteration, at the subject of alteration, the degree and other sides, making the frameand the direction clearly. Under the guidance of these different modes, combined with theanalysis before, four design strategies are put out: strengthening the Genius Loci inimmigrant community, enhancing the efficiency in the use of the community,intensifying the association between immigrant communities and local cities,excavatingthe potential of being a sustainable community.With the strategies are some specific designmethods. Finally, the author takes the alteration of immigrant community inDawang Zhaoqing Guangdong province as an example to show the practice of the modesand strategies mentioned before.This study, based on the theoretical background of the community improvement, startwith the analysis of the current problems and the targets of the alteration,then to differentmodes of alteration at different sides. Following those are the design strategies and its specific design methods，with a practical example at last. This is a systematic research on thealteration of Three Gorges migrants community in Guangdong province. The author hopesthis paper to be a promotion of the interrelated research on immigrant communities, and also aguidelines to the practical design.
