| With the development of scientific research and advanced manufacturing, surfacetopography and structure is more and more diverse. And demands for high-end surfacetopography and structure measuring instruments are larger and larger. The practical needsof diverse surface topography measuring, analyzing and assessment in national majorprojects and advanced manufacturing are constantly improving. The surface topographymeasuring instrument products is at a lower level in our country. And three dimensionalmeasuring instruments of surface topography is still in a gap. Aiming at those situation, the project proposes to research and develop high-end surface topography measuringinstruments.Usability is from the user’s perspective to consider whether a product meets theirneeds and expectations. Usability engineering is a design system of improving usability ofproducts. In IT software design, usability engineering has already formed a completedesign system. In recent years, some methods of usability engineering has been used inindustry, and the effects are significant. This paper analyzes the usability problems of surface topography measuringinstruments, especially for the domestic instruments. Comparative analysis found that thereasons for the low level of domestic instruments usability is caused by problems in thedesigning concerns. We carry out the following research with the design practice of whitelight interferometer as the carrier. First, transfers the concerns of the existing measuringinstruments from products to the users. Analyze the existing availability problems of thewhite light interferometer in the user centered design. Then develop a design process ofthe white light interferometer and an application model of availability engineeringmethods under the guidance of Availability and Availability Engineering Theory. After thatcomplete the optimization design of the white light interferometer under the direction ofDesign Process and Method and promote the availability entirely. And this study will provide some suggestions for the design of related products in the future. |
