The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) control system is more andmore popular with the development of techniques in power electronic, Microelectronicsand microcomputer. The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor has strong coupling,time-varying, nonlinear qualities. Many factors affect the control system performance,such as the change of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor parameters and load. It mustapply an efficient method to get a good performance and wide range of speed modifyingcontrol system.The main research point in this thesis is the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motorspeed control system. Firstly, it provided a math mode of PMSM in d-q frame of axes,introduced the vector control theory with rotor flux orientation and analyzed the method ofcurrent feedback decoupling and the SVPWM technique. Next, it designed a two closedloop controller of the PMSM speed control system with the engineering design method.This paper studied and designed a speed regulator by fuzzy control with considering theproblems of the effects on speed regulator parameters and control system performancecaused by the change of rotational inertia. It introduced the fuzzy control theory anddesigning rules of MAMDANI type fuzzy PI controller and proposed a speed regulatorwith adaptive fuzzy controller. The adaptive fuzzy controller can has a good quality toagainst the change of parameters and load by online modifying the proportional factor offuzzy controller. Finally, the simulation in MATLAB/SIMULINK tested the adaptivefuzzy controller in different test conditions and did a comparative analysis with thetraditional PI controller. The results tested the good performance of the adaptive fuzzycontroller and it can meet the requirements of a PMSM control system with goodperformance and wide range of speed modifying to an extent.
