GIS (Geographic Information System) is an important tool which can not only acquire and savethe geographical spatial data, but also analyze and manage them. As a result of the close relationshipbetween the geographical information of electrified wire netting and the fault diagnosis and location,GIS that can display the fault directly and improve the accuracy of fault location is used in the faultmonitor and management. Researching and establishing a fault monitoring management systemwhich is suitable for application is of great significance to improve the reliability of the smart gridpower supply. The main research of this thesis is about the management of fault, the generation of thetopological relations of the smart grid and the fault analysis method. By combining the network’stopology relationship and the fault information, a fault matrix is formed. And through the matrixoperation, a comprehensive monitoring management system has been finally achieved.Firstly, by applying MapX component technology which is a kind of GIS technology in Delphi,the functions of eagle eye, generating map from database and fault nodes’ display and so on havebeen achieved. The use of the custom tools to achieve the drawing of power station and a variety ofmap operating functions can conveniently operate and control the map, which can provide friendlyinterface support for fault analysis and management. Based on this, it have realized manymanagement functions such as fault clearance, fault call and display, viewing of fault nodes’historical information, fault statistics, viewing of entity information and so on. It’s convenient for theusers to manage and operate.Secondly, through the building of the nodes and lines’ relationship and researching on lines’topological relationship, a topological data organization and line relation matrix generation algorithmare realized. And based on the relationship between the fault nodes and lines, monitoring anddisplaying of the fault’s nodes and lines is achieved. The algorithm uses lines as search elements tobuild lines’ topological relationship, which can have high search efficiency and good applicationvalue.Finally, the method of the fault analysis is provided. Through a fault analysis algorithm, the faultlocation and precise judging of the fault omission and misinformation are achieved. And the methodhas been proved to have a better fault tolerance and application value.
