Electric power is important to social development and national security, it is also the guarantee of national economy. At the beginning of the 21st century, serious power outage occurred in North America and Europe, caused unprecedented loss on industrial and economic development, which reminds us of our power security.Paper discusses the theory of distribution fault processing system, involved sources and characteristics of power network fault information, intelligent treatment system function and fault processing system technology. Grid fault information differs from other information because the information sources and properties are particular. System includes fault found, real-time and interactive repair, electricity risk analysis, fault smart analysis, statistics analysis and state assessment. Based on GIS system, GPS positioning system, marketing management system and customer service center (95598), with the oriented service (SOA) schema for design principles to build the fault processing system. Distribution network fault information processing system makes use of innovative scientific and technological achievements, taking future system development and business needs into consideration. This system is designed with the intelligent treatment system in Taiyuan construction project, the system is divided into two parts which is production control and information management, and connected to distribution automation systems and marketing systems. The underlying base of system is databases and data access components, including 95598 repair calls, self-discovery, distribution automation power acquisition, system platforms and GIS and PDA repair jobs graphic showing, system interface, the interaction logic and backstage computer programs. System includes GIS and intelligent information platform system based on the common information model and search algorithm for function optimization, Paper discusses fault processing system projected in Taiyuan and analyzes the characteristics of Taiyuan electric power company to accomplish the intelligent handling systems.The distribution fault processing system makes a great contribution to the development of distribution network in Taiyuan. System effectively improves the efficiency of company’s fault-handling work, helps accomplish fast, efficient and scientific management and creates great economic and social benefits.
