In recent years, with the steel structures are developing rapidity,it also has beenwidely applied and influence sprawled outwards.Meanwhile, design theory, calculationmethod and system construction in connection with the steel structure has beendeveloped a lot.Beam-column connections is an essential part of steel frame constraints, ithas a significant impact on the entire structure’s safety performance and structuralbehavior. In conventional steel frame analysis, the behaviour of beam-to-columnconnections is treated as either pinned or rigid joints entirely.Generally the beam-columnconnections of steel frame are semi-rigid.Firstly the thesis introduces the domestic and foreign research present situation, typesand characteristics of semi-rigid connection between beam and column, developmentprospects and limitation of semi-rigid connection. This article looks at a specific aspect of minor axis beam-to-column seat angle withdouble web angles connections. As one kind of typical semi-rigid,we must have a detailedunderstanding of the joint’s structural behavior.According to the Eurocode3,connectioncomponent method used for compute initial rotation stiffness of pure steel connections.Limited bearing capacity of connections is derived, compared with the ultimate loadingcapacity of each component, the minimum is what we need.It briefly introduces the general theory of finite element method. The finite elementmethod is obtains the approximate solution according to discretization and compositionunit method.Mechanical property of minor axis beam-to-column seat angle with doubleweb angles connections manifests as nonlinear force performance, therefore finiteelement analysis joints will be involved in three criteria of non-linear plastic theory.Structural behavior of steel minor axis beam-column seat angle with double webangles connections under point load is simulated by finite element method involvingmaterial, geometry and status nonlinear. In order to validate the theoretical solutions, itwas compared with the finite element results, the experimental data and the theoreticalresults, the results of simulations are in a good agreement with measured values.By applying the orthogonal design, the authors studied the initial rotation stiffness and limited bearing capacity.Three parameters(column web width, double angle thickness anddiameter of bolt)and three levels are selected.Base on them, the project of orthogonal testis designed. With extreme difference analysis method and variation analysismethod, column web width, double angle thickness and diameter of bolt are veryimportant to joints’ performance.
