Tapered roller bearings are widely used in modern industrial equipments as the partof the supporting system. With the enormous development of the industrial technology,it is critical important to analyze and study the dynamic characteristics of tapered rollerbearing to improve the working reliability.Based on rolling bearing dynamics and applying theory of multi-body contactdynamics, the interplay model between parts of bearing and the differential equations ofbearing parts are established considering the theories of lubricating, friction andelasticity contact. The parametric simulation module of tapered roller bearing isdeveloped by using CMD of ADAMS, and the interacting force subprograms of bearingparts are compiled and generated.dll file to link the solver of ADAMS by using Fortran. So, the solving and simulation of tapered roller bearing are done in ADAMS by FineIntegral Method and Predict-Correct Adams-Bashforth-Moulton Multi-step method.Taking a tapered roller bearing as example, the influences of bearing geometricparameters and working conditions on the dynamic characteristics of tapered rollerbearing are analyzed. The results show that: friction at the flange contact between rollerlarge end and inner ring back face rib is the chief factors of roller skew; in comparisonto cone speed, thrust loads have a visible effect on roller skew; reasonable speed orloads is benefit for cage motion and decreasing the cage instability; under combinedloads, the distribute of roller skew is correlated to the roller-flange contact loads; theroller skew angle in loaded zone is larger than that in unloaded zone; it is helpful forcage stability when exerting an extent radial load; the pocket clearance of cage hassmall influence on roller skew; there is a reasonable pocket clearance to get theminimum degree of cage instability; the friction coefficient of flange contact have alarger effect on roller skew, and cage whirl is found to demonstrate a circular obit withincreasing friction coefficient.
