Tapered roller bearings are a key component for mechanical system. Themechanical performance of tapered roller bearing could directly affect the stability andreliability of mechanical system. During tapered roller bearings’ working, the skiddingbetween roller and inner raceway, ring raceway will occur because of speed, load andtemperature and other factors in the tapered roller bearing. The skidding will aggravatethe sliding friction between roller and inner ring, outer ring. The sliding friction cancause the wear and damage of roller and raceway. Therefore, the skidding conditionbetween tapered roller and inner raceway can be obtained by the dynamic simulationand experimental analysis of tapered roller bearing. The skidding condition can lay aeffective theoretical foundation for the advancing of tapered roller bearings’lubrication, design, processing technology, endurance life, vibration and noise.This article took30220tapered roller bearing as the object. The structuralcharacteristics of tapered roller bearing were summarized. Key geometrical factorswhich influencing skidding was found out by the quasi analysis based on taperedroller’s force model in supported and unsupported region. Its dynamic analysis rigidmodel has been built in the RecurDyn software. The skidding condition between rollerand inner raceway was analyzed in the dynamic model when tapered roller bearingsupport radial load, axial load and combined load. The key factors, such as revolvingspeed, raceway position, magnitude of load and so on, influencing the skidding wassummarized. The load’s influence on roller and inner raceway’s wear was alsopresented in this article. The explicit dynamics simplified tapered roller bearingflexible model was built base on the flexible simulation technology. The total contactarea between roller and inner ring and stress rules’ changing as time progress wereanalyzed base two key conditions. The main reason lead to tapered roller and innerring’s fatigue were obtained by explicit analysis. Finally, the operation condition’sinfluence on the skidding of tapered bear bearings’ cage was analyzed by the experiment. By the contrast with simulation data the correctness was verified.By above analyzing, the characteristics and key factors about skidding betweenroller and inner raceway were obtained. The main reason of Tapered roller and innerring’s fatigue were presented in the different raceway position. The above researchresult can provide a basis of tapered roller bearings’ optimization design andlubrication.
