The Guanzhong--Tianshui Economic Zone as the focus of the national regionaldevelopment strategy, aimed to accelerate the west salty integration, creating Xi’aninternational metropolis. Based on this background, with the Xixian new area of Xi’aninternational metropolis as an example, collecting field actual survey data and laboratory testdata,3D geological modeling was carried out on the salty west new district and site suitabilityevaluation. It is great practical significance to promote the urban geological work.For urban geological conditions in complex geological structure, the research of surveydata is discrete, and the space distribution is heterogeneity. To explain the phenomenon, it isoften need to use the third party software. The3D geological model is a good way to handle alarge number of urban geological information, in the urban construction and the managementof data in support of and at the same time, also provides a visual interface help intuitive tounderstand the environmental geological condition, strong impact for engineering analysis,judgment and decision-making.Site suitability evaluation is based on the analysis of the geological survey data in cities,to select the evaluation factors and evaluation methods, make scientific rating on regional sitesuitability, quantitatively reaction area for a particular suitable condition of building sites.According to the theory of urban geological environment evaluation method, in combinationwith the practical construction situation of Xixian new area, construction land into land forresidential and public facilities, land for industrial and storage use and land for ecological.And chromatography analysis method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used tolist the corresponding evaluation factors. And calculate the weight value, through the GISplatform, the Xixian new area is divided into five urban areas1km x1km of the unit grid,after the statistics for each unit of evaluation factors to realize all kinds of construction landsuitability evaluation of site. According to the site suitability evaluation results, Xixian newarea residential and public facilities land, industrial and storage land and ecological green landsuitability of even distribution, can meet the demand of land for urban construction isdifferent.This article combining urban geological3D modeling technology and site suitability evaluation, on the basis of the visualization of engineering geological conditions andnumerical completed site suitability zoning maps, for urban geological3D geologicalmodeling and site suitability study provides certain theoretical basis, and provide the actualreference to the internationalization of Xixian new area urban planning and construction.
