As an important part of the road network, the rural road is a major channel forconnecting highways with villages, which plays an important role in promoting ruraleconomic development and rural cultural exchange. But with the increasing volume of ruraltransport, existing pavement structure with varying degrees of damage and even serviceextended. It is urgent need to adopt reasonable and timely evaluation. But rural roadpavement performance evaluation is different from the highway and arterial highway, can’t bedirectly applied to the evaluation method of the highway and arterial highway. Therefore, it isnecessary to put forward a set of suitable rural road pavement evaluation for combining withthe characteristics of rural roads. And then provide the basis for the later maintenance plansand investment decisions.Evaluation indexes selection of the existing pavement performance evaluation system isbased on the data of highways and trunk highways, which is not entirely applicable to ruralroad pavement performance evaluation. Compared and analyzed with the highway evaluationmodel, puts forward three rural highway asphalt pavement individual evaluation indexes suchas CRI,△PCI and RQI, and establishes evaluation model of these individual indexes.Genetic algorithms and artificial neural network are two important branches of artificialintelligence. They effectively simulate the mechanisms of biological evolution and the braininformation processing principles, both of which have a prominent excellent performance andeffectively solve the difficult problems of many general mathematical methods. Firstly, thepaper analyzes the characteristics of rural road asphalt pavement diseases and maintenancefeatures. On the basis of the analysis of the two artificial intelligence methods, set up a ruralroad asphalt pavement performance evaluation model based on GANN which put CK,△DRand△as inputs, and puts PQI as the output.
