China’s highway has rapidly developed in recent years, and the mileage has greatlyincreased. However, many of the pavement construction quality is not assured, early damageof pavement still exist, which becomes the biggest factor which restricts the healthydevelopment of China’s highway. With the advancement of informationization, the rapiddevelopment of network technology and multimedia technology, the remote monitoringsystem based on network greatly reduces the process of management and helps constructioncompanies and the owners to achieve the zero distance on the off-site management andsupervision of the construction site.Based on the above background, this paper designed a monitoring system used for slip-form concrete paver, which is an arm9-based embedded Linux video monitoring system. Thecameras installed on the slip-form pacer collect the information of the construction site andsend the video to the monitoring center over the wireless network, which could helpconstruction units and owners to supervise and control the construction quality conveniently.This video monitoring system has low cost, strong intuitive, convenient use, etc, thisadvantage will be more obvious in rural areas construction. This thesis mainly includes:1、Based on the research of the slip-form paver construction process,the paper analyzesthe factors affecting the quality of construction and ascertain the main quotas.2、Giving the design requirements of the monitoring system, introducing the overallstructure, working principle and function of each module of the system.3、Building hardware and software platform of the embedded system, mainly introducesthe construction of the hardware and the build process of the software platform.4、Designed video capture process of the monitoring system; analysis and determine thevideo codecs and transmission scheme; give the realization scheme of the video in themonitoring center.
