In recent years, with the continuous development of economy and society,thedemand for electricity increases rapidly. As the scale of power system larger and larger,the whole power system gets more and more complicated. At the same time, people putforward higher requirements for power supply reliability. Further research on how toimprove the reliability of the distribution network is needed. Considering reliability andeconomical efficiency, this paper studies the optimization configuration of distributionnetwork switch equipment.In this paper, considering distribution network reliability and the economicalefficiency of switch investment, the author puts forward the optimization configurationmethod of distribution network switch equipment, so as to seek a solution withreasonable reliability level and minimum cost. This paper uses reliability evaluationmethod which is based on fault traverse technology to assess the index of reliability andeconomical efficiency of alternative solutions. Then this article establishes an optimalfunction whose result considers reliability level and minimum cost. This function is usedto choose the optimal plan. The improved genetic algorithm is introduced into thisoptimal function to improve the convergence rate of the algorithm and enhance the abilityto search the optimum solution. The application test on RBTS-BUS633kV feeder testsystem has verified the rationality of the algorithm and its value for engineeringapplication.A distribution network reliability evaluation and switch optimization configurationsystem using C++programming language is built in Visual Studio2008.This system canhandle complicated calculation of the distribution network, and output data report for theresult analysis. The software is easy to operate and works with the engineeringapplication value.
