CAD/CAPP/CAM Integrated System Development For Complicated Parts Based On Model Based Definition In Marine Diesel

Marine diesel engine is the core equipment of ship, and to improve the ability ofmanufacturing is very important to enhance the competitiveness of China’s shipbuilding.With the development of the integration of CAD/CAPP/CAM technology, many companieshave invested a lot of time and money, but the CAD/CAPP/CAM technology is still not playthe biggest role, which is because of lack mutual coordination and mutual support, theinformation transition still rely on manual transmission, and the management is confused.After analysis the CAD/CAPP/CAM integrated system problems in the manufacturingprocess of marine diesel complicated components, this paper use MBD technology, featuretechnology and knowledge-based engineering in PDM software. The innovation of thispaper is using the PDM integration technology and defining machining feature based onMBD technology which will then be used for realizing the process decision and NCprogramming under our feature based integration way, and establishes the CAD/CAPP/CAM integrated system. This system is not only improves the shortcoming of traditionalCAD, CAPP, CAM system, but also simplifies the digital manufacturing work, here are thecontent and productions:(1)After Analysis the enterprise practical situation, the study has constructed theCAD/CAPP/CAM integrated system based on PDM. This system representing features basedon process view, realizes series of operations such as feature information extraction, featurereconstitution, feature process inference, manufacturing operation creation, feature tool path,NC machining simulation, NC code generation and so on;(2)By using PDM software, makes technical documentation of products centralizedmanagement and associated with each other, and access the entire life cycle information byWEB, provide an effective method for the integrated system integration, network issues andso on;(3)Study the information integration technology based on MBD which is used inCAD/CAPP/CAM integrated system, use MBD model as the only basis for the process ofmanufacturing and processing, ensure the uniqueness of the data, and also realizes theinformation between the system flow to each other, and share information together, createconditions for company to product design, process analysis, manufacturing enterprisesefficiently;(4)Has a research on the classification of manufacturing features, summary of companyfrequently-used tool path form based on GT, realizes tool path planning optimization, make tool path meet the company’s requirement and improve the efficiency;(5)According to the practical situation, customize the post processor to make NC codereach the company’s requirement, and verify the accuracy of NC programming of integratedsystem by machining simulation based on VERICUT, and customized shop documentation.
